Wishing for Springtime
We should only have 4 more weeks of winter if that groundhog was right.... Had a really nice weekend. I attended my first meeting of the Children's Book Illustrators Guild (CBIG) and am really excited to be a part of it! Also, my website has been updated again! Looking forward to relaxing on the couch tonight! Oh, here's wishing my dear friend Jo-Anne a very Happy Birthday tomorrow!

Space Cows
The thought of running into space cows in the milky way cracked me up! It is true, I do have an affinity for cows, especially the brown swiss (in the top right corner). Can't help it, they have the sweetest faces! Not much new to report, working on my mailing list.... life is good!

Hats Off to Christina!
Hello there! I would like to thank the amazing and gifted Christina Rodriguez for being so wonderful! She is an extremely talented children's book illustrator, and I was lucky enough to receive the 2007-08 Minnesota SCBWI Illustrator Mentorship so I could get a chance to work with her! Hopefully, I can be the human sponge and learn as much from her as possible! (She even wrote some really nice things about me in her blog ). I just can't put it all into words... Christina's advice, insights, and encouragement have been invaluable- I could never thank her enough!

Got away for a couple hours by myself tonight to do some homework, so that was nice (thanks, Alex!) My apologies to Simon and Garfunkel- wishing I had some more time (get it?)

Here Goes....
Hello! My wonderful mentor, the brilliant and talented Christina Rodriguez, suggested I start up my own blog. So, here goes... My next assignment is to compile a list of publishers that I would like to contact in the world of children's books. I am excited and overwhelmed all at once. I will end my first blog with a joke: Did you hear about the fire at the circus? It was in tents! nvc
