Princess Kate

This is a painting I made for a little girl who worries that wearing glasses means she could never become a princess. Glasses aside, I do fear that it is terribly hard to find an actual prince these days, so it is most likely that she never will become one... Statistically speaking, that would probably be more geographically-based and have very little to do with having 20/20 vision. Maybe slightly better odds that she will become a princess than actually meet a unicorn, let alone feed him an apple.

I feel bad that when I painted myself as a Mermaid and a Princess I left out my glasses. I wasn't "representing" for all us glasses wearing princesses out there.

Hahaha! Hurry! Write a letter to Disney. The next princess has to wear glasses!

Aww, I think she makes a mighty fine princess, and I hope your little friend thinks so too. Wonderful painting! Happy New Year, Nina! May it be filled with prosperity and good health and maybe even a unicorn somewhere in there.

Hi Nina! Happy New Year! I love the colors in this piece. So soft and whimsical. I like that your princess has glasses too. Very cool!

Glasses Girls, unite! What a terrific way to show her anyone can be anything they want to be. We've got four eyes times three in our family, and we're proud of it! :)

Tell Kate that I wear glasses, and I DEFINITELY have a princess attitude - just ask my husband!

Sharon - don't feel bad. As a mermaid, you wouldn't wear glasses underwater!
