Ode to Summer

Water

cool clear

pouring splashing filling

missing something needing flavor

mixing stirring blending

sweet delicious

Kool-Aid

I just visited the journal of MN poet Laura Purdie Salas. She is incredibly talented and her blog had the "recipe" for writing a diamante poem, so I gave it a try. Pretty fun. Must be summer, I am so darn thirsty..... Have a great weekend, everyone!

Thanks, Nina, for all those nice words! I commented on your poem at my site, but I'll just say again: clever and funny!

Your name is so familiar, and I see you're a Minnesota person too. Have we met at a CLN event or SCBWI event (maybe I saw you win the illustrator mentorship)? I tried to find a pic online to jog my memory, but couldn't!

Hi, Laura! I have heard so many great things about you but have not gotten a chance to meet you yet! I did win the illustrator mentorship and have been learning so much from Christina! I love checking out your journal- you are so great at helping people find their inner poet... Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for being so nice! I hope to meet you someday (maybe the conference in October?)!
