I had a kooky idea a while back, wrote it down, and put it into the idea drawer of my desk (I have a whole drawer now). It resurfaced this summer in a little sketch...
I dove into the library and checked out tons of books on coral reefs, shells, and ocean life. I am now a huge fan of cephalopods and nautical maps! And I had a little bit of fun with my sea creatures...
You can sea the whole illustration at my website (which now has a brand-new coloring page section for kids!) and hear the music that kept me company while I worked on it (which was way easier than holding a conch shell to my ear while painting!).
Would you like to win your very own deck of silly Go Fish! cards?
Leave a comment here and let me know which one of the creatures is your favorite (please include your email address). Winners will be announced on September 27th. (end with new nina joke)
What do you need when diving for shellfish?
Big Mussels!!!
